The Wedding Trends Taking Over 2021

It’s safe to say that 2020 changed the way that weddings are being hosted. A lot of these changes were based on government restrictions, but as always, couples and vendors around the world adapted to a difficult situation and make something beautiful! This is also what has inspired many of the wedding ideas we will be seeing in the near future. From subtle styling to health and safety, here are all the wedding trends you’ll be seeing in 2021!

Safe And Sanitised…

We know that 2021 will be filled with hand sanitiser, masks, and lots of safety precautions! One of the most sensible trends that we will be seeing is having creative and crafty ways of bringing cleanliness to your wedding. Think cute signage, little welcome boxes of safety elements, and instructions so that everyone is safe and staying healthy!

Heading Outdoors…

Say goodbye to indoor celebrations and hello to saying ‘I do’ outside! From gardens, to vineyards, to backyards, we will be seeing lots of couples tying the knot surrounded by fresh greenery, vibrant florals and beaming sunshine.

Using Space…

With many restrictions in place and a strong chance of these remaining throughout the year, we are all about using spare space! You may not have as many guests as originally planned and they will all be more spaced out, meaning there will be more empty areas to fill in. This means incredible floral displays, grand concepts, and incredible decor!

Simple and Understated…

This year, we are expecting to see a lot more simple styling! Classic tones, subtle concepts, and understated beauty will be winning and bringing a sense of simple beauty to so many weddings!

Wedding Games…

With dancing at weddings being a difficult topic, we are sure we will be seeing more couples entertaining their guests in other ways! Wedding games, more speeches, and seated entertainment will definitely be appearing more and we love it! Of course, the newlywed game is a clear fan favourite!

Eloping…

We are sure there will be many more couples planning to elope this year! Whether it’s to avoid stress, or because you just want to tie the knot ASAP, there are plenty of reasons to escape to a beautiful location (either near or far) and say your I do’s with your partner and perhaps a few loved ones. Of course, you can still have a celebration later on! Need some guidance when it comes to eloping? We’ve got you!

Fur Buddies…

Time for one of the adorable wedding trends of 2021! There may be number limits for guests but there are no limits for cute little fur babies! More and more couples are including pets in their big day and it’s the epitome of cuteness.

Keeping It Green…

We’re keeping it green this year, and we’re not talking about the colour palette! Now is the time to make sure your wedding is as environmentally-friendly as possible. That means recyclable elements, reusable decor, and being as mindful as possible! Need some tips to make sure your wedding is as environmental as possible? Check out our top tips here.

Micro-Weddings…

Many couples will be keeping celebrations small this year and we can understand why! After the rollercoaster of restrictions, a micro-wedding is definitely an idea that’s worth considering! Of course, these celebrations are still so magical, with a large sense of love and intimacy.

Back Up The Truck…

Buffets are out but food trucks are very much in! Not only is this idea safe for both vendors and guests, but it gives you the ability to bring a creative and delicious idea to your big day. Check out some of our favourite food truck ideas here.

Safety first…

Health and safety will definitely be an important wedding trend in 2021! Masks are an element that will most likely be essential at certain points, so why not make a statement of out it! There are so many gorgeous designs out there that will bring an extra spot of glimmer and glamour to your bridal look.
