Like most couples who planned their wedding for this year, we were forced to come up with an alternative plan due to COVID-19. Indian weddings host a lot of guests, sometimes upwards of a thousand. Because of the scale, we thought about delaying until 2021, however we both agreed that any sort of legitimate vaccine was not due to come out until mid to end of 2021 at the earliest. This meant that we were looking at 2022 to host a wedding, safely. With all of the uncertainty around the public health crisis, we both decided that we would stick to the date we first wanted which is October 10, 2020, and host it with just our immediate family, with a reception to follow whenever the pandemic ends. Traditionally in India, the bride gets married from her home, and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to do just that in front of our parents and siblings in an intimate ceremony at my home in Bowling Green, KY, which was live streamed for all our loved ones everywhere. Looking back at it now, we wouldn’t have changed a single thing.Â
